Ok, so this woman is an amazing actress, she has a lovely voice (as seen in The Librarian), she can speak 5 or more languages, she can pull off a fascinating number of accents, she does archery, flamenco, theatre, she is interested in Astrophysics, she reads good Literature, she answers questions in interviews as if she is writing essays on the art of acting, she interacts with her fans as if they are her friends, she cares about the environment, she makes frequent visits to the LA Hospital for Children, and now she can write songs?!

Facts We Know about Detective Katherine Beckett:
- Beckett’s birthday is November 17th. (verrified by producer Terri Miller) She was 19 when her mother died, on January 9th 1999 (3x13). This makes her 29 in season 1.
- She attended public school (1x03), and then Stuyvesant High School (2x22).
- Her best friend in high school was Madison (Maddy) Queller, who calls her “Becks” and refers to her as ‘the biggest scofflaw’ at the school.
- In high school Beckett was a wild child, dating everything from grunge guitarists to medical students to European exchange students rumoured to be royalty (2x22).
- Beckett is a fan of Castle’s work and has all his books in hardback (1x01). She also has library bookplates in at least these books (1x01). All of the above she finds terribly embarrassing (1x01, 1x09).
- Her father became an alcoholic after her mother’s murder, but has been sober five years as of Season 1. Beckett wears his watch for ‘the life she saved’ and her mother’s ring on a chain for the ‘life she lost’ (1x05). She stops wearing the ring around the time she starts dating Tom Demming (2x21-24) and we don’t see it again till it re-appears on the murder board in her new apartment (3x13). The watch gets broken when her apartment blows up, but Castle has it repaired (2x18). This brief interval is the only time she’s seen without it, except when dressed up for going out (1x07, 2x14).
- Her first apartment was up three flights of stairs, on an airshaft above a restaurant that served chicken wings (1x06)
- Becket works at the 12th Precinct (1x06). The facade of the building entrance clearly said the 9th until a new exterior saying 12th Precinct finally appeared in mid-S3.
- She reads the NY Times Review of Books (1x07) and apparently reads plays (1x10). She’s also seen Showgirls (2x03).
- Her mother’s case was ten years cold (1x10) during season 1.
- Beckett spent the first three years of her police career going over her mother’s casefile in every minute of her spare time, until she realised she was destroying herself. After a year of therapy, she was finally able to let it go (1x10).
- The prior detective on the Melanie Cavanaugh case was before Beckett’s time (1x05), so she’s been in homicide for less than five years.
- Ryan calls Beckett ‘boss’ in 1x06 (not in a facetious manner). Both he and Esposito seem to be directly under her supervision, which would make her a Detective 2.
- In 2x17 we finally got to see where Beckett lives, only for it to explode before the episode ends. Her apartment was a loft conversion in the East Village, until a serial killer blew it up. Her bookshelves show(ed) an interest in ancient art, anthropology and history (DVD commentary). According to Andrew Marlowe (interview), she’s been in a sublet all summer looking for another place, and as of 3x07 she still doesn’t have a permanent apartment. By 3x13, she does and it looks like she’s been there awhile, so she’s found it somewhere between those two eps.
- She spent the summer semester between junior and senior year of college in Kiev and speaks fluent Russian (2x01).
- She was a catalogue model for a summer when she was 17 (2x03).
- She knows Batman (1x05), but she also reads more contemporary graphic novels, especially Frank Miller (2x06).
- Beckett’s badge number is 41319 (2x09).
- Beckett has been known to sleep on the break room couch when she’s working on a case, though it’s not certain if Castle knows this because he’s been told, or because he’s caught her at it (2x10).
- She’s been a bridesmaid six times (2x12), but has never been engaged herself (2x22).
- In 2x20 she meets Tom Demming, a Robbery detective who used to work with Esposito. They start dating in 2x21, but Beckett breaks up with him in 2x24 to accept Castle’s invitation to the Hamptons, only for Castle’s ex-wife Gina to show up.
- In 3x04 we meet Josh Davidson, a cardiac surgeon with a motorcycle, whom Beckett’s apparently been dating since the summer.
- Chinese is Beckett’s favourite food (2x21).
- Beckett wasn’t in Homicide when the Triple Killer struck the first time around (four years ago), so she arrived sometime after Autumn 2006 (3x06).
- She got a lego stuck up her nose when she was 6 (3x09).
- Beckett probably went to NYU for her undergrad degree, as she took a semester of economic theory there (3x09).
- She worked all through high school to buy a ‘94 Harley Softail, which she still has (3x03).
- Beckett’s grandfather was an amateur magician, and she knows several magic tricks, including how to pick pockets (3x12).
- Beckett’s call sign for dispatch (or that of the radio she is using) is 1L40 (one-lincoln-forty) (3x13).
- A few weeks before Johanna’s death she and Kate went ice skating. Apparently Kate wasn’t very good at it (3x13). It was however an activity she continued and was still doing when dating Will Sorenson (1x09) She apparently wears Neon skates
- Beckett apparently plays the guitar (3x14).
- The magnificent painting in the living room of her new apartment is Matasaburo of the Wind by Alex Gross.
- Huge baseball fan. Has been going to games since she was three with her dad (2x15)
- Used to love ‘Saved by the Bell’ (2x22)
- Can really handle her alchol (2x24)
- Sleeps with a gun
- Takes her coffee as a tall skinny latte, vanilla, with two pumps and no sugar

I had a dream last night about this, where castle food her (I think with lanie somewhere) and she was so gone she ha tobstay at his house over night, and since she was drunk she was confessing all this stuff. (;
